This is great if you like yellow squash. Pour out any water that. Slice the summer squash and place it in a medium saucepan. Place in a mixing bowl and coarsely mash squash with a fork. I make it a little differently though.
Boil until very tender. Place back into saucepan and add butter. In a medium size pot place mashed squash onion butter milk salt and pepper. Bring a pot of water to a boil. Sprinkle black pepper and serve.
